Greg Warnock

Greg Warnock is an entrepreneur, investor, and mentor with more than forty years of experience in launching, scaling, and supporting businesses across multiple sectors. He is the co-founder and managing director of a growth capital firm that assists expansion-stage companies in accelerating performance and achieving long-term scale. Through a model based on disciplined governance, operator involvement, and value creation through strong connections, he works closely with leadership teams to improve go-to-market execution, build leadership strength, and unlock access to new markets. The firm’s investments span industries such as technology, healthcare, and consumer services, with over $5 billion in exits reported through 2020.

Greg is also the co-founder of a buyout and growth platform that focuses on the food and beverage sector. This platform offers operational expertise, targeted capital deployment, and access to a vast network of experienced operators. Under his leadership, the platform has supported several of the country’s fastest-growing restaurant brands. It has helped improve unit-level economics, expand multi-unit operations, enhance supply chain and site-selection strategies, and maintain company culture amid rapid growth. The platform is known for helping early-stage restaurant concepts grow efficiently and profitably at a national scale.

In the early part of his investment career, he co-founded a venture capital firm focused on early-stage companies in the information technology and life sciences sectors. As managing director, he played a key role in building the firm into a leading early-stage investor in the region. The firm backed high-potential companies and mentored founders through the challenges of creating scalable businesses. It later merged with another investment firm, continuing its legacy under a new name while maintaining its focus on early-stage innovation.

Greg's experience also includes leadership in the public markets. He served as chairman and CEO of a publicly traded special-purpose acquisition company that went public in 2023. Under his guidance, the company completed a business combination with a SaaS-focused acquirer based in Brazil. This cross-border transaction expanded his global investment reach and demonstrated his ability to lead complex public-market deals.

Founding Businesses and M&A Experience

Before entering the venture and growth capital space, he spent the early years of his career founding and operating companies across technology, biotechnology, consumer products, and marketing. As a technologist-founder, he was often involved in product development, team building, and guiding businesses from the initial idea through to commercial success.
He also played a key role in more than 20 mergers and acquisitions. These experiences gave him in-depth knowledge of market evaluation, deal execution, and guiding companies through growth, transformation, and exit stages.

Entrepreneurship Education and Mentorship

In 2008, he launched an entrepreneurship education initiative designed to provide aspiring founders with the skills, resources, and mentorship needed to navigate the complexities of building a business. Through this effort, he has mentored numerous entrepreneurs, reflecting his continued commitment to supporting the startup community.
